Joining and Surfing a Traffic Exchanges

Joining and surfing a traffic exchange sounds very simple, especially if you have been doing it for years.  However, I remember what it was like when I was first introduced to traffic exchanges.  I found them easy to join and hard to figure out what to do once I joined!  Here I will walk you through finding, joining, and surfing a new traffic exchange.

You are probably already a member of Twitter or Facebook.  You probably are already a member of a text ad exchange or a safelist.  Why do I mention this?  Because you have probably already been exposed to some of the traffic exchanges out there.  There are two great places to start your hunt for a traffic exchange if you want to find the most active or most popular ones.  The first place is Affiliate Funnel, and the second one is Traffic Hoopla.  They are free to join.

Once you find a traffic exchange you want to join, click on the Join (or Sign Up or whatever their button says) Button.  It will appear either in the middle of the front page or be one of the buttons on the left side of the screen.  Most will ask you for a display name, an email address, and your first and last name.  Click OK or Join or whatever their button is called.  You should see a message that tells you that you will receive an email asking you to verify your email account..  Go there now and verify.  The verify email may also include your referral link as well as a temporary password.

When you click on the verify link, it will take you back to the exchange, tell you the email account has been verified, then ask you to log in.  When you log in, depending on the exchange, you may see a one time offer (OTO).  If you can afford it, take it.  This gives you guaranteed credits every month.  If not, wait until you can.  To activate your account, most exchanges require you to surf between 5 and 50 sites.

How do you surf?  In the Members Area (or Tools Page), you should see an icon that says Surf (Hover Surf, Click Surf, Surf & Chat, etc.).  Click on it.  It takes you to the surfing area.  You will be shown a site.  At the top or bottom of the site, you will see a timer.  When the timer counts down to zero, you will either be given one image to click or an image bar (click on the matching image) to click. Once you click on the image, you will be given another site to see.  These are other people's promotions you are seeing.  You will also see banners and text ads advertising other's promotions.  Watch carefully!  Sometimes there are prizes in those areas too.

Each exchange has various ways to receive prizes - prize pages, text links to click, games to play, verification pages, etc.  You have to watch for these because they can be one of the sites you are viewing, text links beside the image to click, etc.  You can also surf a certain number of pages for temporary upgrades, cash, or extra credits.

Decide how many sites (or pages) you want to surf per day. Then surf.  It keeps your promotions in rotation (being seen by others).  Oops!  We haven't added your promotions yet!  We'll save that for the next post.

Until then...Keep it on the Redline
